Want to Throw a Cow Themed Gender Reveal Party?
Gender reveal parties have gained popularity over the last decade, especially for parents that already have at least one child because traditionally, you only have a baby shower for the first child (except in certain circumstances). Holding a gender reveal for the other pregnancies allows you to hold a special celebration for those as well. This list is how I would throw a cow themed gender reveal party. Since everyone doesn't do things exactly the way I do, I have added some options to change it up a bit so you can make it into your own vision. My list just makes that a little easier and less time-consuming for you. As I made this list, I could easily envision how this party would look.
Invitations
The first step to throwing an excellent party is inviting others to attend. Gender Reveal parties are no different. Here I have listed a few options for to not only invite your guests, but some cute ideas for holding a diaper raffle or asking for them to bring books for the new little one.
This neutral invitation set includes 25 each of invitations, diaper raffle tickets, books for baby cards, and envelopes. With one purchase, all your invitation needs can be met so you won't have to decide right away what all you want to include.
These vibrant invitations will match the cow theme well with the black background and bright pink and blue accents. Just fill in the pertinent information and mail out them out. This set comes with 25 envelopes in addition to the 25 invitations. If you want to hold a diaper raffle too, then you're in luck. Next on the list is a set of matching diaper raffle tickets.
Although designed to go with the invitations above, these diaper raffle tickets can stand on their own, too. They come in a pack of 25 and have the same black background and bright pink and blue accents.
The last (but not least), invitation on this list is a pack of 15 invitations with envelopes in pink, blue and gold. They are so cute and will go well with any theme.
These adorable black and white diaper and wipe raffle tickets will match any invitation or theme you choose to use. They come in a pack of 50 so you'll have plenty for all your guests.
Reveal Ideas
A gender reveal party can't exist without an actual reveal of the baby's gender. This section has several options for your grand reveal no matter what you're interested in doing. Have fun with it and congratulations!
This is a cute idea that I have never seen before, one with a barn theme so it goes perfectly with a cow themed party. They will work for long distance reveals or all out parties. Just order the girl or boy version and they'll send you 25 of the scratch offs. Then your guests all scratch off at the same time to reveal the baby's gender.
A gender reveal idea that's becoming increasingly popular is doing burnouts that have pink or blue "smoke" coming from the tailpipe. I've only seen it done in videos but it definitely looked cool!
This is another creative idea that I have never seen done, an egg that gets cracked. Inside the egg is a message saying a prince or a princess is on the way. How exciting!
I'm sure you've seen this done before, confetti cannons. Mom and Dad each get one to discharge and pink or blue confetti comes out. A nice thing about this option is that the package comes with 2 pink and 2 blue cannons, so you don't need to know what the gender is before you purchase.
Now here's a super fun gender reveal idea, a balloon dart game. The package comes with 16 balloons and someone has to fill 7 of them with colored powder, 4 with the color for the correct gender, 3 with the other color. The kit comes with a pink and a blue dart. Guests, family members, soon-to-be siblings, or parents can take turns trying to pop balloons until there are 4 popped of one color.
We can't forget one of the original gender reveal ideas, a balloon drop! The set comes with both pink and blue balloons so this is yet another idea that you won't need to know the gender before placing the order.
Another fan favorite is the giant balloon that you pop so that pink or blue confetti comes out. Since you add the confetti yourself (or the keeper of the gender does), you can pre-order this balloon even before the gender has been discovered. And, the dart is included.
Finally, the DIY gender reveal...you can make it whatever you want it to be. We used this for my daughter's reveal. I filled it baby girl/cow related items, including an adorable onesie that is further down this list. Then my granddaughter opened it up to reveal the gender to everyone. I even included a pink balloon for good measure.
Table Settings
You don't want to shove your theme in the face of your guests, it is always best to pick some solid colors that compliment your theme then add in themed items to bring everything together. In this case, black and white are the main colors related to the cow theme, but, since it is a gender reveal, we need to include pink and blue as well.
We start with white tablecloths because it will allow the other items on the table to really stand out. These rectangular ones come in 3, 6 or 12 packs.
If your some or all of your tables are round, then these is what you need. These also comes in 3, 6, and 12 packs.
These plates will look great against the white tablecloths, whether your tables are pre-set or your guests are getting their own plates.
Alongside the black plates, this black cutlery set would look just as great, especially if they are set out on the pink or blue napkins. Or, if you prefer rolled cutlery, rolling them in the pink or blue napkins using alternating pink or blue yarn to hold them together (pink on blue and blue on pink). And of course, I've got you covered on that, too. The napkins are up next and the yarn is listed in the miscellaneous section.
Here are the pastel blue napkins I promised. I have chosen to include the luncheon size because they work just as well as paper dinner napkins but come at a lower price point and often have more in a pack.
Since you can't get to the pink napkins from the blue napkin link, it was necessary to include them separately. They come in a pack of 50 just like the blue ones.
No party is complete without cups and I find that 12-ounce cups are a good size for any celebratory occasion. They're not so big that you find a lot of cups that are still half full when you clean up, but not so small that your guests need to go back for more often. Cups in pink and blue will look great on your table.
Much like the napkins, the only way to get to the pink cups is with another link. Therefore, here is the link for the 12-ounce classic pink cups.
One thing that I look to do to pull my theme together is use themed plates and napkins for the cake, or whatever dessert I choose to serve. That is why I am including this great set that includes a 50/50 split of 7-inch plates and napkins. This set is available in 80 or 160 pieces.
Decorations
This is my favorite part of party planning, the decorating! I love picking items out then seeing everything come together after it's all been put out. It is definitely one of my happy places.
This balloon set would look awesome, especially if you mix in the pink and blue balloons that are coming up next. Also, there are bows coming up that I would place on the 2 cows in the set, one pink and one blue. I think this combination would bring everything together.
These are the balloons I was just telling you about. They are available in pink and blue and the set includes 50 10-inch balloons and 20 5-inch balloons so it will make a very pretty display once the cow balloons are mixed in.
Now, if the first set of cow balloons weren't your taste, try out this set. Since it comes with pink balloons already, you only need to add the blue balloons further up the list. Plus, it comes with this adorable silver foil baby balloon. Altogether, this set as shown has 61 balloons, including the foil one.
I just can't stop looking at these little cuties, they're so adorable! If you're looking for a really easy centerpiece idea, look no further. Just open up the honeycomb bottoms and set them on the table. However, if you are using them outside, you may want to either tape them down or attach something heavy so they don't blow over.
If the honeycomb look isn't for you, then this 32-piece set is just as adorable but more versatile. The cute cow cards can be hung from some string for a garland or attached to the included sticks to be used as centerpieces. Check the miscellaneous section for how to display them on the sticks.
If you plan to have a photo booth, then you can't go wrong with this adorable backdrop. It is so sweet and comes in 2 sizes for just the right fit for your party.
If you plan to have a cake, then this adorable cake topper will be perfect! It has glitter and a cute little cow with the words Oh Baby, what more can you ask for??
If you love the Oh Baby cake topper but plan to have cupcakes, not cakes, then you are in luck because here are the cupcake version of these adorable little glitter cows. The set comes with 24 toppers.
Perhaps you don't like the phrase oh baby, but you love the sparkly little cows. Well, then you are still in luck because here are cupcake toppers that are just that, 24 sparkly cows.
Guess the Gender
Your guests will love making a guess on what gender is about to be revealed. All they need to do is choose a sticker that matches their guess and then everyone will know what they think the baby will be, a boy (bull), or a girl (heifer).
This is another prediction game. It works for 2 reasons...one, it comes with a sign telling your guests what to do so you don't have to repeatedly explain it to them. Two, the stickers say Team Girl or Team Boy instead of Team Heifer or Team Bull so if that's a phrase you prefer, this is the choice for you.
If you or your guests prefer not to wear your stickers on your sleeve, so to speak, then this is a great option. It comes with a board with its own easel and then your guests place a sticker representing their vote on the board in the appropriate place. This also makes it easier to see which "team" got the most votes.
Miscellaneous
This section is the rest of the items that I felt didn't quite fit with the descriptions of the other sections. I really like all of these items just as much as I do the rest of this list. Be sure to tag us in your photos if you use our ideas, we'd love to see the end result with your own spin.
Helium is getting harder to come by but even if it was easy to find, some people still prefer to not use it for a number of different reasons. Unless you have excellent lung capacity or are a glutton for punishment, then you need this balloon pump to inflate all the balloons on this list. It takes a little bit of practice but once you get the hang of it, it really speeds up the decorating. The handy balloon tying tool that's included makes tying balloons a lot easier once you figure out the correct way to use it.
And, here are the hair bows I mentioned above, the ones that I would put on the cow balloons. If the gender revealed is girl, then little miss has also has 2 new hair bows. Although only the blue is pictured, the pink is also available at the same link.
This yarn is available in pink and light blue and is perfect for using to wrap silverware, make garland, or tie balloons. When you're done with the party, someone, maybe you, can use it to knit or crochet a baby blanket or some booties.
If you'll remember, I listed some cute centerpiece cows that come on sticks and mentioned that I'd show you how to display them. Well, this is how. Using either the sand coming up next or the fake rocks listed after that. Either would look great against the white tablecloths, holding the sticks in place.
This sand is perfect for using in the jars with the centerpieces. Since the sand is available in blue or pink. You can choose to layer the pink and blue sand or alternate pink or blue between the jars.
Another fantastic choice for your centerpieces are these shiny ice rocks. They come in black, pink, blue, pink & clear mix, blue & clear mix, in addition to other colors. That makes these an easy choice.
Whether a little boy or girl is coming your way, this sweet little onesie is sure to be a hit. It comes in pink or blue in addition to other colors. It goes perfectly with the cow theme and is useful, too.
